Origins from Sydney, Australia, Taiga Kita-Leong a Japanese / Chinese movement artist, with an extended interest in the intersection between contemporary, street and theatre-based performance. He formally trained at Sydney Dance Company Pre-Professional (2020/21) and currently training in the street styles of Hip-Hop and House.
In 2022, he made his professional debut at the Sydney Opera House, performing in Ohad Naharin’s Decadance with Sydney Dance Company. That same year, as an independent artist, Kita-Leong worked across fashion, commercial, and theatre projects, including an Australian tour of The Rivoli by Miranda Wheen, performing and walking for Jordan Gogos in Australian Fashion Week (2022/23), PRESS PLAY for Vivid Sydney, and Skip It by Davide Giovanni for Hermès.
His on-screen presence includes Circumstance 2020 and On View: Panoramic Suite by Sue Healey, Australian Debates on ABC Television, The Masked Singer on Network 10, Night Bloomers by Andrew Lee for SBS On Demand and a number of music videos.
In 2023, Kita-Leong appeared in Meryl Tankard’s KAIROS and debuted his choreographic solo work, And From Here, as part of ReadyMade Works. That same year, he joined Australasian Dance Collective (ADC) as a company artist. Since then performing in Amy Hollingsworth’s Lucie in the Sky, Hofesh Shecter’s In Your Rooms, Stephanie Lake’s Auto Cannibal, Melanie Lane’s Glass Teeth, Jack Lister’s Halcyon and Relic to name a few.
Most recently, in 2025, he collaborated with Sue Healy on her sold-out theatre production, AFTERWORLD, which premiered as part of Sydney Festival. Now currently touring a new production Bad Nature in collaboration with Netherlands dance company Club Guy and Roni.
